Production Process

This was the first time for me to work with artists from other fields, and the core of this project was how to integrate the elements of two creators in different fields in the short film. The starting point I found was the interaction between cloth and dancers. As Xiexin Dance Theater is very good at improvisation, I wanted to leave enough space for dancers to make full use of their improvisation advantages. Besides, one of the biggest characteristics of Rui’s clothing: it is a super elastic fabric. Therefore, we decided to use Rui’s fabric to build a mesh space that echoes her dressing style, so that dancers can interact with the super elastic fabric in a variety of ways. In addition, we decided to only design the overall visual trend for the film, and the specific shots will be improvised according to the performance of the dancers in the scene.
