CONCEPT SUMMERY:
Freedom in the New Age:
In a highly digitalized future, automation and artificial intelligence have crafted a world for humanity that is free from work. With the maturation of consciousness-uploading technology, the physical body has become a temporary vessel; death is no longer the end. Yet, amidst this boundless comfort and freedom, a segment of humanity feels the emptiness and meaninglessness of life. Especially the social elites, those with profound knowledge and resources, who start seeking a purer, more enlightened form of existence.
These elites, primarily cutting-edge scientists, have discovered that certain geometric structures, especially the cube, can significantly optimize the storage and processing of consciousness data. Based on this discovery, some pioneers have chosen to upload their consciousness and combine into these cubic entities, termed "CubBeings". The objective of the CubBeings project is to further refine these consciousness data, purify human consciousness, and enable CubBeings to operate collectively as a super-brain, aiming for unparalleled computational power and efficient data processing.
The Price of Transcendence and Ripples of Humanity:
However, this seemingly perfect evolution is not as flawless as imagined. While the intelligence (computational capacity) of the CubBeings has markedly enhanced, as they try to refine their consciousness into the purest form of knowledge and thought, they realize that emotions and memories, previously deemed non-essential, are actually at the core of their consciousness. Thus, even as they attempt to discard these feelings and memories, they resurface in some form. Within each CubBeing's cube, fluctuations and overflows of consciousness frequently manifest. These overflows project downward below the CubeBeing, forming chaotic liquid-like shadows, displaying a tumultuous mix of shapes and vibrant colors.
We were greatly inspired by the theory of “Life 3.0” by Max Tegmark.
